mRNA Sequencing Technology Validation
Jivan's flagship mRNA capture arrays were the first commercial arrays for comprehensive capture of mRNA variants from splicing, available as a service since 2001 and as catalogue products since 2003.
Jivan's mRNA capture array design is based on technology developed by Jivan's scientific founder and advisor Dr. Manuel Ares at University of California, Santa Cruz. Jivan's technology has also benefited from three grants from the National Institute of Health, two for alternative splicing in cancer, and one to study drug-induced alternative splicing. Early corporate and academic research collaborations further refined the system.
After launching the first genome-wide capture array for mRNA variants in 2005, Jivan expanded its product line with PCR primer designs for mRNA variant detection and software for data mining and data analysis.
